Since there are two games, I'll start with NBA 2k12The spirit of the NBA is evident throughout the game. The menu is easy to use and if you use the play now mode, the announcing and actual game date will change to the current date. Of course this can't be said for the association mode. The association mode is my personal favorite wilth multiple options and features. When it comes to gameplay, this award winning series delivers. With the ability to shoot using the X button as well as the challenging toggle shooting controls, I found myself using the right stick toggle controls for the added challenge. Both ways of shooting require you to pull (or press) and release accurately and on time. Players have different sweet spots so it will take some time to get used to. I am not exactly good at the game, losing 3 straight in association mode before finally winning in overtime, but it is still a fun game to play and even hear the commentating as you play. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 due to its overall fun. Minus half only because I suck at it.I had high hopes for MLB2k12, considering my last outing with 2k sports was MLB 2k9, which was an atrocity of glitches and repetitive commentators. I will say that for the most part, 2k delivered. Game modes are fantastic and are headed by the career mode. You start from nothing to something in an experience that seems like the American Dream. Like the NBA game, I prefer the franchise mode, solely because I get complete control of the team. The batting got an upgrade with a shorter reaction time to pitches and the new different kinds of batting that make the experience come to life even more. The ONE thing I was disappointed about was the pitching. Although it has nice new features including a color coded arsenal of pieces that changes colors due to overuse, the toggle pitching is extremely difficult. Your thumb movements with the toggle have to be as PERFECT as possible. Slip up, and you'll be walking guys with four straight balls. (Yes I did it multiple times) the pitching takes time to get used to but until then, you will be punished for the slip ups. I give it a 4 out of 5Just b ready to wear out your toggles. But for the most part, you will have a great time. The price is too high for me since I found it online for $15 used somewhere else. The ratings average out to 4.25 but I will round up due to the AMAZING presentation in both games. This has been a JP Review. That for reading.Well since Xbox360 doesn't have MLB The Show, MLB 2K12 is your only bet for a baseball game. NBA 2k12 is the best thing going around in town as far as basketball. Personally, I never liked the 2k basketball games but I like basketball so I don't have a choice. Overall as a sports gamer, this is a perfect purchase to pick up. Definitely worth the price since if you brought both of them separately, you end up spending an extra $30-$45 bucks. MLB '12 looks almost the same with a few new additions. Looks a little sharper, no batters eye when batting to make it more realistic and they added a pitch location box to keep track of strikeout locations vs. contact locations as well. I give both 4/5 but the price 5/5..cant beat it.I have only played the MLB part of this game so far, that is the main reason I bought this game, it is pretty good, there are definitely a few bugs that need to be fixed. Sometimes the SS will not charge a ground ball which results in a base hit for the opposing team, which is very frustrating. My Xbox freezes every time I get to a certain point in the Home Run Derby, so I will probably never be able to get that achievement. Stealing bases can be pretty difficult unless you have someone with a speed rating over 90. Other than that, the graphics are pretty good and the gameplay will entertain for hours.I have always been a big fan of the NBA 2k series. I wanted to buy that game since its the day it came out, and was unable to. I do enjoy aspects of the MLB 2k series but I bought the package because of the NBA 2k. But getting the mlb for 10 bucks extra makes this one great deal.MLB 2k12:Virtually identical to 2k11. Nothing really special. If you were getting MLB 2k12 standalone, I highly recommend getting this package.NBA 2k12:Way more features than MLB 2k12 especially when comparing my player modes. That's where NBA 2k12 shines in comparison.Overall, you can't go wrong with this combo pack.My son says the game is very impressive (He’s 9)?.Great games. Scratches are light but you need to be aware occasionally it only ships one disc. My first order was only mlb2k12. I called Amazon support and got a full refund. Placed a second order and got both. You get two games for the price of one, how could you go wrong? A great gift for any sports fan that plays the occasional video game! You get NBA 2k12, the best sports game of the year as well as the best 2k baseball game I have ever played in MLB 2k12. I would suggest this product to anyone that is trying to find a fun game to play or even if you are buying a new game!
