UnsatisfiedGreat controller. Got one for my ps4 alsoWhen I first found out about the PowerA Fusion wired fightpad, the design reminded me of the Sega Saturn controller very much, which is why I bought it.It has a good feel to it. There is more weight to it than the Sega Saturn controller. I prefer that it is heavier. The d-pad is great like the Sega Saturn's. I like the size of the buttons. I also like that you can re-map the shoulder buttons and that the d-pad can be switched to be used to control as the left stick, d-pad, and right stick controls of an xbox controller. I'm breaking in the controller, so it will be less stiff in time. The replaceable faceplates that it comes with are easy to replace. I contacted PowerA and was told that they don't sell the faceplates seperately in case you break one, or you want a different colour than what it comes with. That's my main concern. I hope that changes. They did tell me, if the faceplates break or get damaged, they can replace it as a warranty claim. The cord is nice and long, and wrapped in cloth.I don't usually buy PowerA products, but I have to say that this fightpad has a premium feel to it. $59.99 might be up there in price, but this controller is worth it when you play games that need a good d-pad and 6 button layout. Just don't pay more than the $59.99 msrp. I see some sellers sell for more than $80.I highly recommend this controller and hope PowerA sells the faceplates separately in the future.First impressions of this controller were very positive, however when it came to precise diagonals, I noticed it wasn't able to do so cleanly with the faceplate on. This is because the faceplate is too thick to let the D-pad move cleanly. So I removed the faceplate and the problem was fixed. However, that defeats the purpose of the swap feature, as you'll have to play without a faceplate. That was the first star off. Then I decided to go deeper and look at the internals. Initially I wasn't too bothered, until I saw the D-Pad's crosspiece. As you can see in one of the photos, it's not quite the same material as the original Saturn piece. It's more akin to the material of Retro-Bit's first crosspiece, which was prone to breaking not long after 3 months of regular usage. Which, coincidentally, happened to this reviewer not long ago: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3P7DDH9M81DJ3/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07XQYYFRVUnlike Retro-Bit, which just had the crosspiece break, the entire stem of PowerA's D-pad snapped off. Not fall off, snap off with the stem stuck in the crosspiece. This should absolutely not happen, but it did due to the material chosen. Another star off.And now that there's clear cut evidence towards planned obsolescence? Another star off.Oh yeah, let's remember that this controller costs $60, noticeably more than other fightpads. And it comes with the cheapest material possible for the main selling point, the D-Pad. One more star off.Overall, one star really is the best score you can give this pad. Because on the surface it looks and feels great. The face and triggers are amazing (Shoulder buttons not so much). However, once you look past the surface and take a peek into the internals like I did, you'll realize this controller is not meant for long term use. Yes, there is a two year warranty, but knowing they'll likely replace it with the same cheap parts, it's just bound to break again, forcing you buy a new controller. If PowerA can address this issue, and offer a whole new D-Pad and crosspiece that don't break/snap for free, I will gladly update my review. But I don't think it will happen, seeing as in the review mentioned earlier, PowerA didn't respond to the other reviewer at all. Nor honor the warranty. Since this still works in the meantime, I'm going to be returning this and buy something else. If you see this in warehouse deals it's probably mine lolThank you for reading my review. I hope you'll refrain buying unless the issues are addressed.P.S. I forgot to mention the cable! It's not good, the locking feature tends to get stuck and will likely require pliers or something to break free. I used a spare Micro USB cable instead.P.S.S. The reason the controller is heavy is because of some metal weights. A lot of products do this to make it feel more "premium".The first thing anyone buying this controller should know is that it is way thicker than you would expect. If you expect this to fit in your hands like a genesis controller then you are would be mistaken and a retro-bit controller should be a better controller for you. That being said this thing is built with really solid construction and there isn't anything on it that it feels like they cheaped out on. The buttons are huge and clicky, the genesis pad feels and works just as well and the cord is one of the nicest I have ever used. This controller is absolutely not for everyone but for those who want something for 2d fighting games you can't go wrong with it.The Fusion Wired Fightpad is highly recommended for those Xbox One X gamers who just HAVE to play retro 8, 16, and 32 "bit" emulations and games with a similar-style D-pad/controller as was packaged with the home video consoles of the 80's and 90's. As the name implies, this particular design also functions as a cheaper and less cumbersome arcade quality Fight Stick (preferred amongst the arcade fighter elitists). The materials are a softer plastic than usual; the buttons seem a bit rubbery but allow for precision and fast muscle memorization; to the point where you'll quickly learn the button placements. I tested the Power A Fusion Fightpad on a few typical fighters (Soul Caliber 6, Three Count Bout, and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection) and, though superior and preferable to the standard Xbox One X controller, at $59.99 this is more of a fancy retro-style D-pad than serious fighting game controller. Anyone who IS serious should go ahead and get a dedicated (and four times more costly) console/arcade stick.I love this style of controller for 2D games. I've been playing a lot of Hollow Knight and the D-Pad feels and responds well. My favorite aspect is how little pressure it takes to manipulate the d-pad.The shoulder buttons are also buttons rather than analog triggers. This is really helpful for games that use the triggers like buttons. They're easy to activate. Really comfortable for dashing in hollow knight.I have two complaints with this controller:1. No turbo function. This was a feature I really appreciated in the madcatz sf4 fight pads back on xbox 360.2. The face buttons are a little stiff. If they took about half as much force to activate, it would be perfect.Overall, I'm thrilled to have a fight pad like this for my xbone! Highly recommend.Love ?? itthe good:looks nicestrong braided cablecan customise the faceplateThe Bad:-feels flimsy-The Dpad is designed poorly, it isn't very accurate and this feels like a design flaw, as diagonal presses only seemed to register properly without a faceplate on- but this also turns the buttons into razorblades!-The buttons are large and slightly too close together...this would not be an issue if this particular pad wasn't marketed as a beat em up pad- but i found myself catching buttons way too many times leading to me dropping combosoverall, for the price, i found the standard xbox one controller to actually be more comfortable and easier to useI have used fightpads since the Sega MegaDrive days and have to say this is an excellent fightpad. Really good quality (even has a face that can be changed). I love the D-Pad as it is built exactly the same as the MegaDrive fightpad... which is excellent. The buttons are great too and the controller has a good weight giving it a great feel in the hand. Overall I would highly recommend it it (or actually 2) for any gamer who is into fighting games. Now Microsoft needs to license SFV for Xbox Series X/S!!!!It's great, especially for games like Street Fighter 30th ;)Superb pad. Best fightpad I've used for years. Not quite a Saturn pad but great all the same. Dpad is also not quite up to Saturn standard, but is very close. Would definitely recommend.Great value, and the D pad is just how they should be
